Professor Cheng Man-ching is known as one of the most accomplished practioneers of T'ai Chi in history. He taught many students until his death in 1975, and is the author of the Yang Style Short Form we practice today.
In the summer of 1979, Robert Goodwin, a martial arts student in St. Louis, attended a camp led by Benjamin Lo. Benjamin Pang Jeng Lo was a foremost student of Professor Cheng who began his study of T'ai Chi in 1947 and came to the United States in the early 1970's. Mr. Lo devoted his life to preserving and spreading the authentic T'ai Chi he learned from Professor Cheng.
Robert Goodwin was so impressed that he began studying in earnest along with Bob Chow. Classes were formed at the Brentwood Community Center and featured regular teaching visits from masters such as Ben Lo and Robert Smith.
